Here lies the Oakland Athletics. Murdered by the failson Gap heir John Fisher.
I can’t do justice to the injustice of how John Fisher did all of the A’s fans, who stuck by the team through so many seasons of pathetically underfunded baseball. There’s literally a famous book and movie about how hard it was to succeed with these cheap-ass owners.
Here are just a few of the many fans and experts who’ve said it better than I could, as we all witnessed the A’s play their final home game at the Oakland Coliseum this week:

How The OC saved indie rock
“Saved” feels strong but hard to deny that for one brief window in the mid-’00s, The OC had an outsized impact on music.
The real saviours of indie rock are clearly these guys:
What’s Happening to Entertainment?
Ted Gioia with a few signs of what he calls “expanding crisis in legacy arts and entertainment institutions.”
Historic Newspaper Uses Janky AI Newscasters Instead of Human Journalists
Borrowed this one from Ted’s piece above, and sadly I’d expect this will be common amongst all of the papers that have been rolled up and gutted by P/E investors. The future is full of fakes.
Succession's Brian Cox & ASICS Promote World Mental Health Day
Well damn, I rather liked this one.
GOOD READING
For this week’s pairing, I am going to really put myself out there and share a site who I’ve been borrowing heavily from for the content you’ve loved on Sunday Bunch.
